PhD student. My dissertation is about the Mennonite missionary encounter in Congo, 1905-1939. Part of this story relates to the Congo Inland Mission. In its early days, Pentecostal Alma Doering played an important role in recruiting European Pentecostals to serve with the CIM (sometimes called the CoIM e.g. in Fiedler's history of faith missions). In one of my chapters, I am exploring Doering's ecclesiology and missiology, as well as the role played by the Pentecostal missionaries who served with CIM between 1914 and 1917.
