Katrien Pype

I am currently a PhD student in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the Catholic University of Leuven. My research focuses on the interdependencet of media and religion (Pentecostalism) in Kinshasa, DR Congo. The dissertation, which is approaching its completion, studies the genre of television serials, its production and content as reflections of the evangelizing agenda of Pentecostal leaders and as translations of an urban postcolonial African lifeworld.
