In September 2019 I started a PhD at the Protestant Theological University in Amsterdam. Prof. Dr. D. Nagy is my primary supervisor, Dr. C.M. Hays (from the FUSBC in Medellin, Colombia) is my secondary supervisor. I am researching rural Pentecostal communities in Colombia, in a post-conflict context. I am interested in how beliefs and perceptions of the Holy Spirit and the demonic relate to how Pentecostal communities imagine peace, but also in how they understand and experience violence. Up to this point I have been trained as an anthropologist at Utrecht University. This PhD research will strive to be theologically engaged anthropology (as inspired by Lemons 2018).
