Topic: Gender and Sexuality in Born-Again Christianity

My research seeks to explore how Born-Again Nigerian men and women understand the body and sexuality. It engages with Gender Studies, as well as Feminist and Masculinity Studies from within the context of post-colonial criticism. As a starting point, it explores the public display of spirit-possession with an aim to understand how religious, as well as social, political and economic identities are formed and (re)formed through bodily practices within the Born-Again framework.
