I joined the Making Suburban Faith team as a PhD student in January 2015. My PhD research focuses upon the relationship between sound and spirituality in three suburban faith communities; a Hindu temple, an Anglican church and a Pentecostal church. My research employs a variety of ethnographic methods such as observation, interviews and creative participation.
I am particularly interested in how Hip Hop is used and conceptualised in the Pentecostal church I work with. I am also working towards curating a series of musical events where members of diverse faith communities creatively collaborate and share their music. In relation to the creative element of my work, I have a SoundCloud page at: https://soundcloud.com/sacredsonix
