I am currently employed as a post-doctoral researcher in Prof. Heinrich Schäfer's DFG funded project on pentecostalism in Central America (http://www.uni-bielefeld.de/theologie/forschung/religionsforschung/forschung/schaefer/pfingstbewegung/identitaet_guatemala.html).
For my Habilitation, I plan a comparative project on religious practice and democracy in Latin America. My doctoral dissertation (cultural anthropology, New York University) is on civil society organizations and democracy in a Bolivian patron saint festival.
