I am a former research Assistant at the University of Bamberg, currently looking for a host University. I defended my thesis and was recently obtained a Dr. Phil. in New Testament Studies in November 2024 and published it in March 2025. My research was on Romans 13:1-7, investigating most especially the concepts of power and subordination found in the text, and how they are given a spiritual hermeneutic by Pentecostal movements in Zimbabwe.
This spiritualisation of political power, which does not promote civil resistance to dictatorship, and to some extent discourage Pentecostal affiliates from being involved in opposition politics, finds its crowning in the interpretation of the concept of ‘citizenship’ by the same churches.
I am currently researching how migration and citizenship are viewed within selected charismatic movements who have already established themselves in the Schengen Area. An intertextual reading of Phil.3:20 and Jer. 29:6-7; daily texts used in the same churches, will therefore be closely studied.
